There's not suppose to be any motion transference either. That's one thing we deal with with our spring mattress. We go to bed at different times and get up at different times so there is always the good possibility of the other waking when getting in or out of bed. Also, when either of us moves it shakes the other. When one has lower back problems and the other has neck and shoulder issues, being constantly shook around on a very soft and springy mattress doesn't exactly help matters. Especially if you're already in pain. So I'm really looking forward to the new mattress. Should be in this week.

You can get the 4" King size toppers from overstock.com for around $120-140. Its really worth the investment and tons cheaper than a whole mattress. Oh and it comes with 2 memory foam pillows!

That'd be a good idea if our mattress was firm and supportive to begin with, but it's not. Even with a topper I'm afraid we'd still sink in and bounce around.

We already have memory foam pillows. Mine is nicer than his though. After I get up in the morning he always seems to roll over and use my pillow.

Have a Sleep Number bed. So my wife and I can "set" the firmness to whatever we want. It also has a 20 year warranty on it and is very easy to care for.

Wouldn't have anything else. With the combination of being able to adjust sides individually and a memory foam top on top of the air cells, it's the most comfortable bed I've ever had. And some days my back may be stiff, so being able to increase the firmness helps.

I've never slept on a memory bed. I've only ever slept on ones with springs.

They sound pretty good, but I don't feel like paying thousands for one so I think we'll wait a few years at least.

How the hell did you manage that? Were you strapped? The cheapest one I was demonstrated was 1800 and it was a double without the pillowtop or memory foam.

You must be one hell of a haggler
