What happens if you have identical twins? Are there two souls chilling in that little clump of cells, or is there one that divides?

Gen.2:[7] And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

The spirit is the "breath of life". It comes at birth. The soul is the combination of a body and a spirit.

I'll go along with the idea of man's spirit being the breath of life. I also agree that the soul is the combination of a body and a spirit. What I do not agree with you on is the notion that the spirit does not exist until it enters the body. There is nothing in the scripture you quoted to imply this to be the case. I'm curious as to what you believe happens to the spirit at the moment of death. Do you believe it dies along with the body, or that it continues to exist independent of the body? Obviously you believe in some sort of afterlife. It is my understanding that Catholics believe that the spirit of man rises to Heaven after death (perhaps after a period of time in Purgatory), to be united with a newly perfected body at the resurrection. If this is the case, then the spirit does not require a physical body in order to exist. Can you provide any other verses that would imply that the spirit comes into existence at the moment of birth, as opposed to existing independently of the body prior to birth?

I like the idea that souls are present in another dimension and wait for the connection of the sperm and the egg to happen, then the soul provides the spark of life to begin a new bodily journey.

Yet if I would....
They say that sometimes twins can feel eachother. add on eachothers sentences, think alike.
One could say that's because the soul has divided in 2..

i have often wondered about that but is it true have there been real tests or is it a myth
