Further, I might as well add thi. Poor old Seti, for all their efforts, they haven't detected one signal of possible ET origin. Now if these ET's keep visting the Earth, don't they ever signal, or call home alol. As the nearest Star is 4.5 light years away, I don't really think that even if they could travel at the speed of light Unlikely, they would take 9 years to get here and back, just to do what excatly, abductions lol. Amusing the Public and giving the media a yarn or two...

I really think there are UFO's, but they ain't from the Cosmos. We are alone, quite quite alone in the Universe.

It's just a matter of time until we confirm the truth behind the bullsh!t. We're now in a very nifty age where sophisticated technology neccessary to track, record, and confirm the facts are availble to the general public. With UFO's recieving as much attention as they are and with the groups of people tracking these events only increasing, it's only a matter of time until the whole truth is made public, government conspiracy or otherwise.

I don't think we have been visited by anyone or anything however I have seen objects in the sky that seemed to defy physical laws. For example. In 1965 I saw what thought was a meteor flying across the sky but it changed directions (close to a 90 degree turn)and picked up tremendous speed .....then it was gone.

When I was a kid, under the age of 10, on 2 seperate occasions I have vivid memories of seeing (or more likely imagining) a man riding a camel through the sky. I recalled thinking at the time that it was Jesus coming back to Earth. By looking around me today, I have serious doubts that Jesus came back riding a camel through the sky.

What is more likely is that a little boy with an active imagination (me) heard some kooky stories in Church and saw a plane or a helicopter, and filled in the fuzzy image with stuff I heard in Church that week. Still, it freaked me out pretty good when I saw it.

My ex-wife and her sister claimed to have seen a UFO while together. Frankly I don't think what they saw was an alien spaceship. Both of them would pass a lie detector test on the subject, I think, but their beleif does not make what they saw an alien space craft. Funny how these sightings have gone through the roof since Orson Well's time. . . . coincidence?

If there is life on another planet, which I acknowledge as being entirely possible, then the only way we would ever know it, is if the following set of circumstances were all true, which is extremely unlikely.

1. There is life on another planet.
2. That life form is highly intelligent, at least as intelligent as humans.
3. That life form has conquered space travel (no mean feat. Humans have been on this planet for over 100,000 years and we have only just in the past few decades been able to get off this rock)
4. That life form is close enough to make a trip to Earth. (if an intelligent life form is zooming around on its spaceship 14 billion light years away from us, we wouldn't have any way of knowing it, would we?)
5. That life form has a desire to visit Earth.
6. That life form is in a level of its evolution that would allow all the above. For instance, suppose there is life sustaining planets all over the cosmos, but they are all, every single one of them, in the dinosur, or trilobite level of evolution. We would have absolutely no way of ever detecting such life forms on distant planets.

It takes an intelligent life form, close enough in distance, and advanced enough in intelligence with the technological know-how and desire to get here, and which has reached this level of development at the same time we are in our current stage of development, for there to be any chance of any alien "visitors." When you take all this into consideration, I think there is no reason to beleive, absent somebody bringing in an alien carcass, that we have had, or ever will have any visitors from outer space.

Resurrecting this thread since I saw the thread on the Mothman.



I saw a UFO, in broad daylight. I was outside in a neighboring town around 13 years ago driving to the university for class. I happened to notice something floating in the sky but didn't really think about it until I was at a stoplight, and I saw that it was moving slowly, but not REALLY slowly. I pulled into a parking lot next to the stoplight and got out of the car, and my heart was pounding because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was disc-shaped, with a shiny dome on the top, and the bottom was black with what looked like three "exhaust".........things.........sticking out slightly underneath.




It wasn't making any noise, either, and it would move one way, stop, and then move another way, stop, so effortlessly, and then it burst off high into the sky and disappeared within three seconds without a sound.




I wasn't the only one who saw it, either. I noticed a couple dozen people afterward when I turned my eyes down from the sky either standing in the parking lots, or slowing down their cars, all pointing to sky and engaging in this nervous/excited chatter.



Everyone was saying in hushed tones along the lines of "what the hell was that?"




Anyone else seen a UFO? Anyone want to take a stab at what I saw and/or who was flying it? And why it was flying over a small town like ours?
