It's just a thoery, Arlanbb. But I'll bet you if you were to name any random 5 members we'd be able to find evidence of self-indulgence in some of their posts without a lot of effort.

I think your right. I'm a little surprised that there isn't more people joining the ranks to tell us what they think of this subject.

Anytime one does something that one enjoys one engages in self-indulgence. We've all eaten, we've all slept, we've all drunk water while thirsty, we've all done all sorts of self-indulging things.

People are people, no matter what. Each person has good points and each one has not so good points. Self indulgence is one of those things that everyone succumbs to every now and then.

OK lets quit beating around the bush. When i say "self-indulgence" i am refering to "masterbation". A prophet of the Seventh-day Adventict church, Ellen White, uses "self-indulgence" to mean "Masterbation". She writes in a book called "A Solemn Appeal" in 1870 that young people who indulge in self-indulgence "bring on numberous pains in the system, and various diseases, such as affection of the liver and lungs, neuralgia, rheumatism, affection of the spine, diseased kidneys, and cancerous humors." pg 64 .

For women self-abuse, same as self-indulgence, brings on "catarrh, dropsy, headache, loss of memory and sight, great weakness in the back and loins, affections of thespine, and frequently, inward decay of the head. The mind is often utterly ruined, and insanity supervenes." pg 73

Ellen White say "Self-abuse is probably, the most flagrant violation of the sexual law". " It is an evil even more damning that any other to which mankind is subject" pg 84-5
