As a feminist, I don't believe in telling a woman what she can or cannot wear. It is not the government's business to intrude. It's an issue of personal liberty (whether you find it liberating to wear one or not), privacy, and freedom of religion.

What about freedom from religion?

Doesn't exist. Freedom OF religion means you have no more right to impose atheism on others than they have to impose religion on you.

The Establishment Clause doesn't state freedom of or freedom from religion. It states that the Federal government (and by extension of the 14th amendment) the state government cannot impose a recognized or new religion on citizens. If one takes into account that one of the debating points for this clause was the taking of taxes to fund religious services then the Establishment Clause can indeed be stating that we are free from religion in a roundabout way. That and the freedom of conscience debate which is at the core of the Establishment Clause could also be taken to mean that we are free from a traditional notion of state religion. But it's probably more of a semantical point then anything else.
