Is gasoline really too expensive if most people are still breaking the law by speeding and thus wasting gasoline? How high do you think gasoline would have to go before most people slowed down to save gas and money?

I believe that it is already too expensive for many people who don't speed. Those who drive fast may not consider that they are helping to force up the price of gas for those who can't afford to pay such high prices. They also don't seem to care if they hurt themselves or someone else.

We are going to look at the prices we are paying now with fond memories.

I think when gas hits about $5 per gallon, you'll see people seriously changing the way they drive. Not that it will lower the price of oil. We can lower the demand for oil all we want in this country, but India and China will more than pick up the slack. Plus, the main reason for the high price of gas doesn't have to do with supply and demand, it's speculators. People are investing their money in commodities like oil and other minerals because the stock and housing markets aren't doing very well right now. The more people invest in oil, the higher the prices go.

I think when the price of fuel hits the $7 per gallon (3.8 litres) which they are predicting by the end of the year people will rethink how they drive. My car gets 9 Km per litre which is about 22 miles per gallon and I'm really unhappy with it I'm considering converting to LPG or NPG the government supplements the conversion so it only costs about $500 USD I'm just not happy I have to lose half of my trunk space because I have a Honda Civic and I only use it to go shopping or haul the family around. I run E-20 gasohol in my car and I'm paying about 26.89฿ per litre which is about $3.57 per gallon regular gas here costs about $5.67 per gallon thus people are rethinking what they drive and how they drive and I'm sure this will be a global thing in a year or two.

This was back when gas hit $3.50 a gallon. Quote:
Seems to me that this is merely wishful thinking. It would take much longer than a week for it to hit the pocket books of the oil companies.

You love to disagree with me but think this one through. Where are they going to put this gasoline we are not buying? Do you realise how much gasoline this country burns in a week?
