For countries like the United States, Japan, and much of Europe, this isn't really necessary, in that we have undergone the demographic transition. But for countries like India, birthrates still remain high. Do you think these countries should regulate the amount of births per family, as China does, in an attempt to save ourselves from overpopulation?

I think every country should regulate it. It should be harder to have a child than to buy a house. I believe we should also pay people for not having kids, not pay them for having them.

China regulates births by slaughtering all but one child. I really don't think we want the whole world taking after China, do you?

Actually, women are allowed to have more than one child if the first child is female. The government doesn't (usually) do the slaughtering, the mothers and/or fathers do.

I think that birth rates would go down a lot naturally if women were educated about their reproductive system and birth control. |
