Always somewhat, but never fully.
Paying attention and not having any expectations.

No, but that's what makes it fun.

How often do you hear someone say, "If I was in that position..." or "If that was me..." what they would have done when we can not truly know what they would have done unless they were truly there. I honestly do not believe I am ready for anything. I am prepared for those situations which I have previously experienced and have some small confidence from the teachings of others. But some things, such as the death of my parents, I honestly am not ready.

Like anything else I guess we'd have to define "ready".
there's ready as in prepared, and there's ready as in looking foward to whatever's coming next with or without any idea of what it entails. I like that last one best, but I have to be in the mood for it (although getting in the mood for it could fall under "preparing").

I used to get purposely lost in the woods just because it was always such an adventure finding my way out (you really learn alot about yourself at times like those), and such a surprise (almost a miracle) when I finally found the road again.
that's more or less how I live my whole life.
