No, I understand that it is logically sound. I simply said it reminds me of the logical argument for a flat world, because it may be logical, but that doesn't make it true.
So it seems that logic cannot prove anything on its own. One must first prove that the premise is true by other means.

You prove the premise is true by constructing an argument for it using other premises. Eventually you are going to have to take some premises on faith/common sense though. That's why there will always be disagreements on many topics.
