So true. I can't tell how irritated I get when people embrace ignorance as if its good for their children.

I never said you didn't had the right. But don't expect abstinence-only to be at all effective. If kids want purely science based sexual education and want both sides equally taught, there is nothing wrong with schools teaching that. It will certainly be more informative and helpful for the children than "sex is bad! Don't do it!"

who are you to tell me that abstinence-only will not be effective to my kids? is that a fact?

there is nothing wrong with teaching both sides at school, but for you to say abstinence does not work, tell it to my wife, who was raised in a christian home and was a virgin untill we were married. ( she was 28 at the time). So i guess it worked for someone.

Oh, statistics show it DOESN'T work. (If your kids and wife benefited, good for them, though) As in it is not better than a sex-ed class teaching both sides. It is in fact worse. http://www.advocatesforyouth.org/new.../041607_jw.htm The experience of a few people does not confirm it's effectiveness on a large scale.

yes, but i am not responsible for the " large scale" , just my family.

but i think we both agree. Sex-ed class ( in school ) needs to teach ALL options. WE DO AGREE!

I think that's what a majority of the parents in Texas think, unfortunately it isn't working.

Apparently he doesn't care about any statistic, as long as his family is successful with abstinence-only. Before he said "it isn't the schools job", but every rational person who wants to educate their children with something other than a religious ideology would consider otherwise.
