No, we know that sex is great for you as long as you're married.

That is right, sex is a good thing as long as the partners are a married couple. We know that no one would even be here without sex.

For Christians, sex became something to keep quiet about and not publicly celebrate when they were squashing the Pagan cultures of the world. For Americans, it comes mostly from the Puritans. Oh, and just so you don't think all Christians insist on never having premarital sex, I'm all for young adults today exploring their sexuality and individual independence before settling down in a monogamous relationship or marriage. I told my niece when she moved in with her boyfriend, live in sin as long as you can! She later broke up with him which is much better than having to go through a divorce or anullment.

That may be so, but we also get flack for stating that we wish to, or need to control our own sexuality/desires/urges. The issue of hijab comes to mind immediately as I have been ridiculed for wearing it, because I believe it has some bearing on how I am viewed sexually by others. So in this case, I wasn't calling for the control of other people, but my own self. I was accused of being prudish, oppressed sexually, and other things because I didn't allow myself the freedom to be without my hijab in public.
