Firstly, I searched the forums and couldn't believe there wasn't a thread on this already. I'm sure I'll be corrected if I am wrong, but I'll start this thread anyway.
I've been reading in a few threads where people have mentioned about genders being treated unequally or inferiorly etc, etc. and I'm all for people being treated fairly, but we must accept that women and men are different in so many ways, that men and women cannot be seen as equal. Now that's not to say that one is inferior, it's just that they are not equal. Equal means even, the same, equivalent, IMO. I would like to hear people's opinions about what they see as either of the genders being treated unequally as opposed to being treated unfairly. To make this clearer, for example, if a person can do a particular job, then their gender shouldn't be a restriction, so that would be a fairness issue rather than an equality issue. until women are restored and the balance of power is equal we will never have peace in the world

I can see your point, Kadzbiz. It does seem important to treat everyone fairly -- but always treating everyone equally would create injustices.

What do you mean restored? Why should power be balanced anyway? There are things that men are generally better at than women and vice versa. Power to me signifies dominance. Would it be wrong to suggest that men are more dominant than women, more overbearing, stronger, and therefore power between the genders could never be equal? What do think? The balance of power can't just be made equal, surely it would have to be claimed? I think your very last point about peace though is valid, perhaps, then again, there are many situations where peace is maintained where the balance of power is not equal, but there is a healthy respect.

Understanding this, it becomes apparent that the subject was never about the supposed equality of men and women. It was about the equal treatment of men and women within a society. |

Why stand against Paul/Saul so much as he denied women any rights to be equal, as is spoken in Daniel of the Anti-Christ...which Paul clearly was, when he contradicts Christ so much.... Another big problem is Biblical translation, there are many references meaning ‘harlot’, which are being put as being ‘women’, so again making all women less.... Like on my Christ and marriage thread of Revelations and "do not defile your self with women"... If we look at the actual Greek words it is ‘Virgin’ and ‘Married’....unless we choose to say all women are defilement, which then Denys God made us as intended.... Heaven was like a womb in my NDE, it feels and gives to all the same as womanly love…. God and angels are both sexes in one being. “Know the masculine, keep to the feminine and be the brook of the world” -- Lao Tzu Esther says “She says” in the apocrypha, yet in the marked 66 books, it is removed. Mohammed said a "prophet’s wife" must show dignity and cover her head.... Plus more.....

To me, gender is body specific - the physical level, we are all Spirit having a temporary human experience. Our true nature is Spirit - which has no gender and no differences, therefore we are all equal in Spirit. I agree that there are things that men can do and women can't and vice versa. Being differently able doesn't mean that we are not equal.

It would be wrong in my family - the women in my family are notoriously strong-willed, and we tend to marry beta males. We're practically a matriarchy. ![]() |
