Hi, my name is Katie and I am doing a paper for a college corse that im taking. It is on the differences and similarities of different religions. I have been here a few times before just reading the posts that have been made by different users but just became a member. God is my Father in Heaven. I am created in His image and He knows and loves me personally.

2. What is your religious stance on other religions?

That most of them contain much truth and much that is good.

I'm not sure what you mean. Other religions are not only "possible," they are real.

4. What is Gods plan for you?

His plan for me involves a period of mortality when I am to learn to distinguish the difference between good and evil and choose the good. I am to learn to walk in faith, repent of my sins, and trust in the Savior He provided that I might have eternal life in His presence and with my loved ones. His ultimately plan for me is that I become like Him.

5. What is your religious view of an afterlife?

I believe in a literal physical resurrection of all life. I believe in Heaven and Hell, but that the overwhelming majority of individuals will ultimately end up in Heaven -- each receiving a differing degree of heavenly glory, as determined by our obedience and faithfulness to Him.

6. Does your religion beleive in reincarnation?

No.

7. Does your religion believe in sin?

Yes.

8. Does your religion believe in Heaven and Hell?

Yes.

9. What is religions view on karma?

My religion has no doctrine on karma.

1. What is your definition of God? God is the creator of the universe. We as humans can't really understand God. No one is even good enough to look upon God. Even Moses could only look at his back.

2. What is your religious stance on other religions? I try to be openminded in regard to other's faith. People have free will and choose what they will.

3. Does you religious veiw except other religions as being possible? That one is a tough one to answer. Certain other religions seem to have very big similarities to my faith. Jesus said "he who is not against Me is for Me". I try to keep that in mind. I am not sure I believe in Universal ressurrection, however; I am just undecided on if other religions are right, too. I pray on this every day because it seems a weakness of faith to some other Christians. I guess I don't to like think any one will suffer especially when they follow their own religions and are devoted to God. As I said, it is tough for me.

4. What is Gods plan for you?To be the best person I can be and keep striving to learn more and multiply my "talents" as Jesus commands. Right now that is being a parent to my children. I also strive to be compassionate to others, including those who don't agree with me.

5. What is your religious view of an afterlife?The Bible says that our spirits return to God when we die.

7. Does your religion believe in sin?Yes, sin is a disobedience of God's commands. We believe that all people sin and fall short of the glory of God. although our spirit is willing, our flesh is weak.

8. Does your religion believe in Heaven and Hell? Yes. I believe that Hell is a cutting off from God. God doesn't do it, people cut themselves off from God.

9. What is religions view on karma?I don't understand Karma, I never really studied it too much. My stepfather was raised Buddhist and he didn't talk about it much.

10. Do you believe in predestiny? No. I believe that God gives humans free will. I believe that God calls everyone and it is up to each individual to answer Him. Anyone can be saved if they just ask God and repent and such.

Possible of what? Being right? Sure.

Some UUs do. I don't, personally.

I don't know of an official UU stance. I see karma as a sound idea, though I believe it to only affect this life, as I believe it's the only one we get.

Supernatural power held on highest plane of existance for someone else.

To each his/her own.

Yes, I admit to knowing nothing to the full extent of the word.

4. What is Gods plan for you?

I don't believe in God; however, I have thought out what I want to do with my life: civil involvement and peaceful studies look to be where my Path is.

5. What is your religious view of an afterlife?

A possiblity, but currently I'm of the opinion that this is the only life we've been blessed with.

6. Does your religion beleive in reincarnation?

Same reply as above.

7. Does your religion believe in sin?

I suppose taking into account my identity as a Christian/Taoist Jedi, the Christian aspect would qualify a "yes" answer. I'm different from other "Christians," though, since I follow Jesus's teachings philosophically and not religiously. I believe one can go against his nature. Sin usually implies a negative connotation, though. I see certain positives.

8. Does your religion believe in Heaven and Hell?

We're living both. Sometimes striving for one can produce the opposite results.

9. What is religions view on karma?

I believe it's a better possibility than my other rejections, but I'm still undecided. I need more time to study and relax.

Katie, great to meet you. Can you tell us what the name of the class is and what the premise and/or thesis of the paper is? If you are looking to put a poll in your paper I would look one up with a larger number polled than you can gather on religiousforums.com Your question on the definition of God could take up a whole book by itself.

Karma can be perceived as a social or cosmic function and the two questions are different. You have construed a matrix in as far as answers to any one question influence another. For instance is cosmic karma from God exists to one based on faith (oh a good word to look and its relationship to faith is fideism), will have an impact on the notion of pre-destination.
