Exactly! trust and love! what I was asking in my OP was why do people have sex with so many different people! I have a friend who slept with 5men in 1week! how is that promoting trust and love if you only see the person once! Im not saying that if you are in a stable relationship have had sex, split and then go into another relationship. I am more referring to the point of sleeping with so many people for one time only! Does that make more sense!

To your other post, i was saying that biologically the purpose of sex is to procreate not humanly! I personally believe people can do what they want, I was more asking your views, not that my way is THE way! I dont think that at all! If people are happy with sleeping with x amount a men once within a short space of time and are trully happy than that is fine, but I have met so many people who only do it really because they feel insecure and deep down they regret it!

Yes I know I asked what you thought - I am pleased you answered with your views- you are entitled to them. What I was arguing about was you saying that it was my OP and bullet points that was turning sex into something it is not - when they were not - they were just my views! Sex can be what people want it to be.

Many I should have titled the thread, Views on sex? would that be better! Because I think you are all getting the wrong idea of what my purpose of this thread is. It is certianly not to tell people how to have sex, when with who and it is certainly not to decide who is right and wrong. It is purely to find out different opinions!

You're working from the false assumption that there is only one purpose to sex. There isn't.

Many people have sex because it is "fun" and have seemed to have forgotten that the purpose of sex is to procreate. Now a friend once told me that the "fun" bit ie orgasm evolved so as to keep the women on their backs (apparantly?) - it does make sense but I am not going to go into those details here..... so even the "fun" bit of sex is related to procreation. So should we be telling kids that it is ok to have "fun" especially when there are so many irresponsible ones who get themselves pregnant - and even with the responsible ones, mistakes can happen.

Pleasure is one of the functions of sex. That's just a fact. Sex feels good, and so there are plenty of people who have sex for reasons other than making babies. I have never been pregnant, so for me right now the main purpose of sex is for pleasure, and the emotional bond it creates with my partner.
Is there something inherently wrong with having sex for some reason other than procreation?

Many people find it perfectly natural to have x amount of partners with no real feelings for them but just for "fun" which turns "making love" into a shag/**** etc, which is not appealing to me at all! But why do so many people find this ok? I mean it put me off kissing too many guys when I find out that their saliva stays in your mouth for 6months!!!!!!! Now I dont know about sex, but if someone had sex with x amount of people (different) in a week... I dont even want to think about it!

There's a very simple answer for this - what feels good or icky to you isn't the same as what feels good or icky to someone else. One person may be perfectly happy having many parters, others may not. Different strokes for different folks, as they say. Just because it creeps you out doesn't therefore make it wrong.

STDS - Unfortunately seeing the "fun" in sex has increased the level of STDS around the globe, so many people are infected with different horrible diseases, which although would still be around in years gone by, were less common due to men and women waiting til marriage?

People have been having sex for pleasure inside and outside of marriage for thousands of years. What spreads STD's isn't an increase of people having sex for fun. STD's spread because of a lack of education, unsanitary sexual and drug habits, and general carelessness.

Personally I think there is an advantage in waiting til marriage, it will make that special night extra special! what do you guys think? (remeber: non-religious) and you dont have to worry about "will I be has good as the other partner?, I wonder what he/she likes instead of working it out togather etc.What are your views? anything you want to add, feel free!

Personally, I'm happy that I didn't wait until I was married to have sex. By not waiting, I knew what I did and didn't like in bed, and I was able to find a man who I was compatible with in all areas, including sexually. I wouldn't have known this if I had waited, and it may not have turned out that way.
However I wouldn't say that everyone should do it the way I did. This is what worked for me, and everybody is different.
