I hadn't heard of this guy before his death, but from what i heard of him and have now seen what he said, he's not as bad as i was expecting.
He didnt mince his words and said some mean things, i just hope he got it right when it came to his relationship with God.

Falwell was a politically and socially important man with a petty little spirituality who pandered to those with petty little spiritualities. He was in no way a great-souled man, unlike some the people he criticized.

Jerry was a royal prick, I despised him and his views, I found him to be everything I've every found wrong with the religious community.

That said, I can only talk so much smack about a dead guy. What he did manage to do is give the Christian Conservatives a political voice, and as much as I disagree with those people, they do deserve to be heard as much anyone else.

The sad part is, now that they have a voice, they don't think anyone else should have one. Therein lies the problem, and a large part of the reason people hate him so much.

Our view may be narrow, but our pockets are wide. While the sinners are sleeping off their drunks and drugs laying in their sinful beds on Sunday morning, we are singing praises and putting 10% of our hard earned money in the coffers to further our agenda of protecting family values.

Perhaps if some of you actually put any money behind your opinions, you might obtain political muscle as well.
