I agree with them; but you went off topic in talking about homosexuals/lesbians/gays/etc. -- that's what I had issue with. 'Reverand Falwell' had something wrong with him. To condemn the people he did and do it all in the name of Christ?

There has been some talk about Falwell being involved in encouraging evangelicals, who had long been marginalized, to develop their political voice.

I could see that as a positive part of his legacy. I think the country doesn't function as well when some voices are shut down.

Other than that, I find his segregationist history a bit hard to swallow. Since in Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, I should've thought that by extention that in Christ there is neither black nor white either.

I think Falwell's encouragement of Evangelicals to get involved in politics was a mistake that has only distracted Evangelicals from the spiritual message of Jesus Christ. It's turned the Evangelical movement into little more than an arm of the Republican party. Evangelicals were taken to the top of the mountain by Satan, offered the world, and unlike Jesus, they accepted the deal.

With the newer crop of evangelical ministers, hopefully they'll reconsider and climb back down that mountain. There seem to the beginnings of such a movement. I hope it continues.

Sadly this is what people think of when they think of christiany. When you say your a christian these days people think of men like Falwell. He gave religion in general a bad name. it's sad that people of any faith could be judged by one man's action's.

It's sad when anyone die's but I can say that this man will not be missed!

If the christian God does excist hopfully he sent Falwell to hell.
