If it became manditory for everyone to speak the same language I doubt it would last very long before groups of people would start creating new secret languages to preserve their privacy and in order to defend themselves and their country. I think it would create more havoc than good to have a universal language. Best to leave well enough alone.

No, it wouldn't make the world more peaceful. Especially if it was a hideous Germanic language like English. lol

But then you lot are probably all expecting that too. ![]() Compromise... if you choose, for your language of world peace, something a little more romantic, I'll buy into it. ![]()

Here we say English is the language of commerce, French and German are the languages of the upper classes, and some Slavic variant fills in the rest. I think Slovenian would be a nice compromise. It's a beautiful language. lol

Anyway, It's pretty a coincidence that I was thinking about the topic few days earlier, and I thought it is not the language that could solve the world's troubles.. In RF, I had many notices, first of all, history is very relative to people in different nations... Second, I found that cultures deeply effect peoples perspective towards certain issues.. Third, for some reason, the stuff I thought were logical to me and my people(Arabs mainly) seems not for many others here...a complete different perspective We better try reaching a cultural compromise rather than a language one... And I think the Internet is doing such an approach right now, like RF for instance.. But still not that effective, specially in countries like in the middle east which mainly use internet for porn!! Some might call this Globalization... I think it's usefull... </IMG>
