Are people sheep? (Jesus Christ, ritual, Creator, Isaiah, spiritual)

The bible tells us in Isaiah 53:6, "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way;...". We, like sheep, have wandered away from our Creator. Our sins have left us lost, separated from God, without hope, and unable to return. Just as any good shepherd looks lovingly for his wandering sheep until he finds them, the Lord Jesus Christ said He came, "...to seek and to save that which was lost." (Luke 19:19)


Are people really sheep? Why does God think we're dumb animals?


One of my hobbies is watching people, I used to go to wal-mart & sit in front of the automatic doors & then when I got the chance turn them off. One person would crash into them & then another even though they watched the person in front of them hit the glass. Most of the time this will continue untill someone comes & turns the doors back on.

Ever noticed when your coming to a stoplight why there are so many people in just one lane & the other lane in the SAME direction is totally empty?

Now, my question is are people really sheep or just to lazy to think for themselves? Is there any difference?

Humans are social animals, so we certainly have some "herd" behavior in us. But it's an exaggeration to say we're more like sheep than we are like some other social animal. Say, chimpanzees. Or even wolves.

People are constantly spoonfed lies by the nanny state government from cradle to grave. The sad part is most people believe it, independent thought is outdated these days. It is much too easy to manipulate the people into doing the governments bidding.

Children often walk around half asleep. So do spiritual ones.

Its WHY they're children.

People often are not totally present to their environment. While they're shopping their minds may be thinking of a dozen other things. I know that my eyes have seen things that my brain didn't register because I was thinking of something else.

Another consideration is that most people do not assume that someone is going to be so mean as to turn off the automatic doors for his own amusement.

Look at the world. Is this place run by a bunch of 5 year olds or what? I feel like I'm trapped on a planet full of meth babies.

The messes you see on the news everyday are because of immature though. Few have grown enough in their spiritual sense to embrace compassion, and the ones that do seldom see the seats of power.

Power in this world belongs to the mind, and it's relentless quest for more. It doesn't allow the heart to speak very often.

Ok I can see ONE person hitting the door MAYBE two but anymore then that is just stupid, & what about the follwing the cars in the same lane when there's a open lane right next to them? Why get in a line with 15 other cars when there a empty one next to you?? I never did it for my own amusement I did it for a bet at the time, I only did it once. Something tells me that you could do the same test with different people & they would still hit the door.

Most people don't even see what is going on around them.

Just lazy ... or prefer a particular lane... some times lane hopping is not the best idea.

Now, my question is are people really sheep or just to lazy to think for themselves? Is there any difference?

People spend a lot of time running on auto... they do the same task the same way every time. How often have you driven home and can't remember a thing about the journey. This is an ability we have, to run some tasks in the background. we can do things, giving them the right attention, with out putting them into memory, or making new decisions... if things have not changed we just make the same decision as last time.
A simple example is opening a door ... you don't think about how to turn the handle you just do it. When you meet the rare one that turnes the other way , you think it is locked.

All this does not make us sheep... it just speeds up our reactions.

I wouldn't be so quick as to insult sheep like that. They may not be of the highest intelligence, but we don't really know that for sure. Maybe there's this whole sheep conspiracy that entails them to just "follow the herd" until one day when the time is right...
