Am I a traitor? (experience)

I was having a discussion with a person at work, when the topic of places you wanted to live came up. I had mentioned that I would like nothign more then to move somewhere in Ontario Canada. When I brought this up, I was called a traitor. Her main point was the fact that I was born here, lived all of my 23 years here, paid taxes here, etc.
So am I really a traitor becuase I want to move to a foreign country to find a better life then I currently have here?? Is it so bad that I want health insurance?!?!?

I wouldn't consider you a traitor because I would make the same decision as you... but if you were making a decision I couldn't support, I'm not sure how I'd feel.

Not everyone can get health insurance. Not all jobs offer a policy that is affordable which I think is funny since they know how much they're paying you...

After a truck payment, credit cards, insurance, cell phone, and normal bills, I barely get by as it is. The insurance at my work covers up to $3,000 and I have to pay 20 bucks a week! Screw that! If I wanted insurance, the best price I found was $203 a month!

Insurance is available, though. That was my point.

My hubby and I recently experienced a lapse in health coverage. He left a company he worked w/ for years and started a new job and I just went back to work, after staying home with the kids for a while.

We could have paid for insurance out of pocket ourselves, though. The option was there. (But...we kept our fingers crossed and went without...)

You'll never hear me dispute that insurance is expensive.

My point was simply...it's available.

And not to knock Canada's health care system(s)...there ARE cons to their health care system as well.

No, leaving a country you don't want to live in doesn't make you a traitor it makes you honest. I say go ahead and follow your heart, it's your decision not hers.
