Is Richard Dawkins A Bigot? (evolution, churches, pray, eternity)

Is Dawkins bigotted against religious people?

Is it fair to call him a fundamentalist of some sort?

I don't see Dawkins as a bigot at all. For instance, on another thread, he was quoted as saying:

"It is absolutely safe to say that, if you meet somebody who claims not to believe in evolution, that person is ignorant, stupid or insane (or wicked, but I'd rather not consider that)."

That's not bigotry; it's a plain statement of fact. Granted that most people who deny evolution are ignorant about evolution, rather than stupid or insane, what other explanations are there?

I think we would first have to do a scientific bigot test to answer this question.

1. Does he cross to the other side of the street when he sees a religous person coming?

2. Would he disown his daughter for marrying a religious person?

3. Has he been known to deny equal opportunity of employment to religious persons?

4. Does he blame religious people for most of problems in his world?

Now for the fundi questions:

5. Does he stand outside churches, temples or mosques picketting during prayer and worship?

6. Has he pamphletted cars with fliers describing the evils of religious persons?

7. Does he hold to an inerrant Truth that he claims rationally condemns religious persons to an eternity of shopping at Walmart?

8. Has he bombed or threatened to bomb a seminary?

9. Does he host his own TV show in which he links religion to TEOTWAWKI?

Yes and no.

Yes becuase he is biggoted against any that do not place an entire inner life in reason.

No because fundamentalist should be only used for it's original meaning. Bastardization of language leads to "Christian Taliban" and since that is a "no-no" in Christian circles, "fundeamentalist" should not be used in any circles but Christian.
