...way up high There's a land that I've heard of once in a lullaby Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue And the dreams that you dare to dream Really do come true Sourced from an article http://atheism.about.com/b/a/257938.htm?nl=1 And from a museum dedicated to the Wizard of Oz, there is a flag symbolizing this song sung by Judy Garland - a rainbow flag. A twelve year old visitor asked his father to purchase it and he did, he brought it home and he flew it next to the American flag that graced his bed and breakfast. Quote:
Read the source article and then tell me you hope there is someplace "over the rainbow..." where this type of hate is no more.

Reading this article reminds me we have a long way to go in this country before the GLBT community is treated fairly and respectfully.
![]() Thank you for the link, Pah. I feel like buying a rainbow flag and putting in on my car. ![]() Peace, Mystic |

i think their basic point is that flying the rainbow flag is inflammatory towards conservatives.... of course, supporting unfair discrimination is in no way inflammatory, but hey,
![]() what makes this worse is that there was a purely innocent intent behind the flag that had nothing to do with LGBT issues, but i guess our agenda has spread into every walk of life..... ![]()

Reading this article reminds me,the human race still has soooo far to go...one goal, one love..that should be enough no matter who you love..its a sad world, and the innocent nature of the flag was taken away by yet another bigot.(we need a hair pulling out smilie)

I've been told by a friend that emailed Knight to offer support and encouragement that the flag has been shredded and Knight has ordered a new one to replace it.
The comaprison of the rainbow flag to the Nazi flag disgusts me on so many levels it's not funny. |

Ironically, the flag has a history in Christian tradition as a symbol of biblical promise. Like Old Glory, it's also flown as a symbol of freedom.
