Am I the only one that thinks this is a horrible idea for a big movie production? I can't believe they're making this movie at a time like this! Couldn't they have waited another twenty years to make a movie like this?

I didn't realize they were. I thought Flight 93 was bad enough, I refused to go see it.

There are still families greiving over the event, doing a movie about it will only rip open those wounds that they have been trying so hard to heal.

I didn't see Flight 93, and I most likely won't. I liked the trailers for the new movie coming out, but most folks don't.

I do think it's pretty distasteful not to have waited longer to make this movie. They're so strapped for ideas that they can't find anything better to make a movie about.

There are also still people grieving about the WWII and you can't count the amount of movies about that war.. also, WWII war even more horrible..

Although it's questionable whether it was too soon, at least it's focussing on two of the survivors found in the rubble instead of specifically on the planes and the terrorists. It's the same as a lot of films, a story about courage, heroism etc. rather than reenacting a historical event.

Well, that does take some of the edge off of the movie. I think this would better serve its purpose if it were more of a documentary thing to educate people rather than a Hollywood hyped money making tool. I believe people need never forget what happened on that day, all of the pain and suffering. That pain and suffering is still ingrained into our national psyche though, which is why I feel they should wait at least until the next generation comes along and can have a look at it. We are still very much trapped in the same mental state as we were then, with Muslims as terrorists, and 'these are the bad guys' I just worry that a movie like this might fuel that sort of hate filled prejudice.

Well, they do have to cash in on national tragedies while they're hot. Wait too long and your average American will have completely engrossed themselves in the new American Idol and forgotten about icky sad things.

I think its a fine idea, as long as the subject is treated well. I mean, it's not like they are making a comedy about it. That would be a little soon.
