BTW, I'm bowing out of this thread. Sorry if I hurt anyones feelings, I just felt the article was biased, but I agree with the women and how it sucks to be them.

I tried to find an article about Barbara and Tibby that didn't mention their past with the LDS church because I just knew something like this would happen. But, unfortunately the Washington Post article was the most comprehensive one I could find on their struggles.

Myself, I could not comphrend not being able to see my husband in the emergency room. In fact, I know last November he dislocated his shoulder ( I thought it was somehting much worse at the time) and I rushed to the ER and they let me in. I couldn't imagine, or be able to bear not being able to see him. I think it is absolutley ridiculous that GBLT's can't see each other. How dumb is that. I once had to pretend my best friend was my cousin for her to be able to see me (no family in the area). I will do everything in my power to see those rights given to you and other GBLT's. I also will do everything to see that you get the same rights as marriage, although, I do have qualms against it being called marriage. You deserve those rights, just as every other human being. |

Marriage inequality hurts real people? Nonsense! Since when has marriage inequality ever hurt a celebrity? Celebrities can go anywhere they want with anyone they want and they have enough lawyers on staff to savage any rules against them or their partners. So how can marriage inequality hurt them? Of course, some naive people might argue that celebrities are not the only real people in our society, but I ask those naive people to reflect on whether they know and care as much about anyone else in our society than they do about celebrities? Huh? QED. I'll believe Barbara and Tibby are hurt by this marriage inequality thing just as soon as they appear on the cover of People Magazine, but not a moment before that.

![]() And they had a movie made about them: ![]() Which I've seen. We showed it at a benefit concert/movie showing at my church in February. Absoluting heart-breaking.
