I don't think there is a unified New Age religion.

"New Age" strikes me as a hodge-podge of various beliefs and traditions drawn from dozens of various faiths. It is not a single religion.

I know that, but I inserted "religion" because I thought some would be confused between "New Age" the vague collection of beliefs and "new age," as if the world is entering a new age. But, I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about, so I reconsidered and edited the OP.

Some of the New Age movements seem to work for some people I know. Overall, I see New Ageism as having the same validity as most any other religion.

Not to my taste, but a lot of things aren't. I've just encountered a few too many people that take ideas from other cultures without properly researching it and calling it New Age, which grinds my gears. Obviously not all New Agers are like this, just the annoying ones.

I think New Age is kinda like someone's attic: It's a pretty eclectic collection of stuff, not all of it works, but there are some real gems. The New Agers I know are a pretty optimistic crowd, more interested in finding those gems than where the gems came from, let alone whether the gems are backed by scholarship or just fabricated for the book they're reading.
