The US wouldn't have the power to conquer to conquer the world.

If it fired a load of nukes, it would get nuked back.

If it tried it without nuked ie. with its army it would get pwned by the royal marines because they are rock solid.

I admit I'm surprised this thread is still up and running. Bush may certainly aim to be remembered as president, but taking over the world would be fiscally impossible.

I agree with this. I can joke about smart bombs and military strikes 'til the cows come home, but at the end of the day it looks like the U.S. is already well on it's way to global domination. World War III is already being fought--but with money, not artillery. If the pen is mighter than the sword, maybe the financial database is mightier than bombs. This also makes sense from a strategic perspective--people are easier to rule when they think they still rule themselves.

Yeah, Bush is just the idiot facade for a group of people who are really pulling the strings. When I say "Bush" I guess what I really mean is those people.
