Article: http://www.punkerslut.com/articles/bearebel.html
What do you think of this article? Much of it conforms to my current opinion on mandatory public schooling.

be a rebel and what? not go to school? that's an informed decision. the author creates a fine story but if they are going to encourage something like this they need to back it up w/ some data.

I didn’t read the whole thing but I found the part that talked about the “boy’s sexual conquests, and the girls sexual appearance” interesting . I didn’t give a damn about school from about the 5th grade on, and I was never like that, and I despised the people who were. I’m sure it’s a real stretch to assume that was because of not caring about school but I wonder if the two do in fact correlate. Interesting.

I found their motto interesting :
www.punkerslut.com the soft hum of electronic propaganda an online repository of subversive literature a classical example of reckless freedom of speech I agree with most of that article up to the hilt, but I'm not the kinda guy who believes in data.

Be a rebel. Conform to my views.
Good stuff. Education should be optional. Less education is sure to decrease ignorance, as this article implies, since it will foster a love of learning. I think it's a good arguement for improving public schools, yes, and for allowing for more freedom of choice in classes, perhaps, for having an education system that teaches people how to think critically as well as learn facts (they do have some very valid points about the flaws of public education), but I disagree with their solution (scrap the system).Mind you, I've gone to very good schools that didn't make me hate learning.

This is all a bit Marxist "down with the system" I think.
Could the failings of some of the children be down to themselves, rather than the failings of the school itself. This may not be the case in America, but I certainly think it is in England (I know first hand because I attend a college joined on to a high school so I see a lot of these reprobates daily)
