Diet pills (recall, bless, God)

What is everyones opinion on diet pills?
My personal opinion is that diet pills are a horrible thing. The people that create and sell them play apon a persons self esteem just to make a few bucks. the best way to loose weight is to eat a balanced diet and excersize. This makes you feel good both physically and mentally. That is if you even need to loose weight in the first place. Every woman that I have ever known gets this glazed look of glee in her eyes every time a new diet pill commercial comes on T.V. None of these women needed to loose weight. Thats my rant for this evening. Lets discuss now.

I say that, first and foremost, people should look after their own personal health.

Diet pills play into the utterly distorted view of what it is to be a woman or man. Diet pills are just another socially-acceptable ways to indulge in self-destructive behavior. People really need to embrace the bodies God blessed them with, and care for them accordingly... of course, if the media and big corporations pushed that, their profits would start dropping...

Personally, I abhor the "heroin-chic" skin and bones look in males and females.

There a scam. They don't work. Most will tell you that along with the pill, you need proper diet and excersize, which of course, if just did the diet and excersize without the pills, it would have the same effect. In fact, the only weight you will lose is from you wallet being lighter.

You got to get a prescription for the good stuff or just go to a crack dealer. Crack works real fast. In my nursing practice I have seen pro models destroy their careers real fast while using diet medications.

I agree, but since he stated on tv, I figured over-the-counter.

Actually, i recall one company that says right there in their advertisement that their pill shouldn't be used to remove vanity pounds, overtly stating that the pill is too expensive for such use. I'm not sure one way or the other whether the pill actually works, but, if it doesn't, a lot of morbidly obese and very dissatisfied customers are going to end up suing them into bankruptcy with that kind of pricetag.

I feel they are a waste of money, and people will buy anything.
I don't believe they work at all, and truth be told you could be taking anything
