Question Near Death Experiences

Are near death experiences real? Have you or anyone you know experienced one? If so, what was the experience like?

They are just as real as a headache or a sore stomach. I had a near death experience in September of 2001 (no I was not at the World Trade Center). On the last day of August I went in for a vasectomy that went horribly awry. Doctor cut an artery along with the vas deferens. I came very close to bleeding to death, had 4 or 5 different surgeries over the next few days to stop the bleeding, then was sent home a week later.

I was at home for one day, when a massive infection set in. I knew I was in terrible shape and had to get back to the hospital. I had my then wife, go out and start up the van. I got up out of the bed, struggling to walk with crutches, and when I got to the doorway of our bedroom, I had one of the wildest experiences of my life.

I don't know any other way of describing it than this. I am in the doorway, and I felt a wave of weakness/warmness wash over my body beginning at the top of my head, and working its way, in the course of about 3 or 4 seconds down my entire body to my toes. I had the impression at the time that it was my soul leaving my body. Realizing I wasn't going to make it to the van, I turned, and was able to take one step before I collapsed onto the bed, where she found me.

She freaked out, as one might expect, and ended up calling an ambulance to come get me as I was unable to move at all. I was laying there basically paralyzed, as I was physically unable to move my body about. She rolled me over to my back, as I was unable to do so, and there we waited for the ambulance.

Bear in mind, that at this time I was 27 years old, and was one of the top powerlifters in the state, very physically fit, and had been rendered completely powerless by blood loss and infection, and I was pretty sure as I lay there that I had died in the doorway when my soul left my body. I have only a vague awareness of the next few days as I was in and out of consciousness.

I didn't see any tunnel, and I didn't see any light, but I did have what could be considered somewhat of an out of body experience, and definately had an experience where my mind/soul/consciousness was not connected to my body.

B.

That was a very interesting story Mdm. Thanks for sharing that. Glad your still around.

I have a couple of experiences. One was a 180° turn in a southern california freeway which caused a wave of cars to try to dodge us. That was pretty scary.
Another one was my step dad trying to stab me when I was like 12 years old.
I've had 3 of my family members stick a loaded gun in my face. I've been pulled over by the FBI with guns in my face. I've had Ninjas raid my house. Umm....man there is so many. I'll stop there.

My oldest brother drowned and was revived. He said there was complete panic until his lungs filled with water..then... the most wonderful peace came over him. Total bliss is the way he described it.. he then faded out to awaken again once revived.

Wow, that's interesting stuff. Did you play high school + college football or something? How'd you become part of a defense attorney?
