Yes, I agree, but every thing we need can be found in nature. There is no reason to be contaminating our bodies with synthetic chemicals. It is just too dangerous.
I certainly do not mean to judge or belittle those of you who suffer. And I do understand that sometimes things really are 'out of whack' so to speak. But not too long ago in our recent history women who had severe PMS were sent away to mental hospitals( actually treatable with a natural substance known as estrogen), and a common form of treatment was electric shock therapy. Now instead of locking us up in buildings, they're putting us in chemical cages, and instead of ELS we have chemotheropy and pills of every color. I just don't think we are focused on the right research. |

I don't have anything inspiring to say, but I'd just like to raise my hand as another who's been saved by medication.
That's all.

Thank you, Prima (and others), for saving me from a rant. I'd suggest that some people need to read the fact sheets at this website. They might have their eyes opened. Then again, maybe not.
My depression started when I was 16/17, and lasted for 7 years. Quite frankly I wish I'd been on medication - I might have saved myself several years of uneccesary anguish.

About the antidepressant-violence link: Okay, yes. That's why adolescents on the drugs are supposed to be watched carefully for the first few weeks, and have therapy. In those cases, someone wasn't doing their job. Parents who should have cared for and watched for the child's symptoms, a psychotherapist...problems like this happen when someone doesn't do their job. When taking the medication, the risks are there. Whoever puts the child on the medication knows the risks, and accepts them. You have seven adolescents there who have had horrible side effects which have been ignored. There are more than seven people on these boards who have been helped miraculously by these same drugs. Can you imagine how many worldwide have seen their lives saved by antidepressants?

People , WHATEVER WORKS !
Sometimes it takes more then others . And sometimes the cure can be worst to the illness . So whatevver it takes to get through the day ... if you don't make it that far , then there isn't much to worry about , is there ?

Why do antidepressants need warnings that they are linked to suicidal behavior in children and adolescents?
Federal authorities say that an extensive analysis of clinical trials shows that antidepressants may increase the risk of suicidal thinking or behavior in children, particularly in the early months of treatment of depression or other psychiatric illnesses. Quote:
