what do you mean by better or worse...?
these are relative terms.

we are becoming less ignorant...and when we see mankind purposefully ignoring what is known...it's not worse then it was before, we simply haven't determined how we got here, thusly we are still ignorant on that level. once we know how we got here, then perhaps we can see what direction we are going...

does that make sense?

As long as we have racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, and the like humanity has not progressed. Perhaps in a collective sense we have shown improvement. So long as people speak in riddles (which in my books stinks of cowardice) and not being upfront humanity in my opinion at least on that individual level has not progressed. I am pessimistic.....So I digress

humanity will not continue to progress.

the fact that these words are in our vocabulary shows we have progressed.

I agree... we have progressed enough that we realize these are problems to address and not accept as "status quo".

I disagree....The average citizen still thinks president Obama is from Kenya which is in my opinion covert racism which is also a lack of progression due to not using logic (which in my view is really called common sense). Yes we recognize racism, sexism, and xenophobia but the average U.S citizen is still stupid.

Humanity has been constantly evolving, meaning humanity is stronger, smarter, and healthier now than we have ever been at any point in history.
I think we're slowly getting there, but I feel that religious beliefs are slowing us down. Utopia will come when we convert all the churches to sports/recreation centres, and most of the military funding to health education and space exploration.

I didn't say we were there yet... it's only been two generations since Jim Crow was abolished. There are people still alive who's parents and grand parents were chattel slaves in this country.

That's not a lot of time at all.
