Why would I do that? I am arguing about scriptural laws and don't fall prey into the fallacious arguments that if ones people do it, they are abiding by their laws as you have repeatedly done so.

That's a good question, it is answered in the link. Essentially the context for witnesses is so strict, the actual witness of vaginal intercourse is so unlikely, and the acceptance of testimony so stringent the punishment is applied very rarely in early Islamic jurisprudence.

It serves to preserve the fabric of Islamic "private versus public" and to be imposed as a general policy of great deterrence.

And as usual, you have done nothing but skirt the fact that Muslim countries have horrific human rights records and barbaric punishments. Arguing scripture laws is nothing more than semantics.

Considering the humans rights violations coming out of S.A. come straight from the top leadership, I don't see how arguing scriptural laws has any validity.

Because you are stating these sacred texts and claiming that the punishments derived from them are no longer used, when it's common knowledge they are. At that point, the sacred texts become null, and it's pointless to argue about them.

I used those texts to show where the punishments came from, you are trying to use them to prove they aren't used.

I did no such thing, what you did was post punishments enforced by countries that are not the same as the punishments prescribed by religious texts. Grasp that point as it is very important.
