Default Real Time Strategy Games.

Anybody play some RTS games here? blablabla..

Ok, the real reason for this thread, Has anybody played the Beta of Red Alert 3 already? (I know only Red Alert 3 as topic would invite not enough people )

I finally received the betacode and played 1 game so far. I know, didn't have much time.
I think they did a great job! Now I am one of those guys that loved Kane's wrath as well, but RA3 really gave me the feeling that it was an update to RA2. I only played the new fraction, the empire, and it's way of building is a combination between generals and RA2 I guess. I prefer the RA2 way, but let's see what'll happen there. Every fraction is supposed to have different ways of building.
I can't wait untill red october!(release) The downside of the Beta is that you can only go for online-play and won't let you build up easy to get to know the units. I'll know some more once I played some more

I love the C&C games!

Many hours were wasted by me playing those.

I think by far though, my favourite is Generals, followed by Yuri's Revenge.

We are so different
I am one of those oldschool C&C's who refuse to see generals as real part of C&C

Nah, but it was not my favourite either. I think I'll go for RA2 at first and Tiberian wars as second.

I was a big fan of the C&C series. I haven't tried out Kane's Wrath yet because I built a new computer recently and am too lazy to reinstall Tiberium Wars before I add the expansion. Keep us posted on how you like Red Alert 3.

Will do.
You should definatelly try out kane's wrath though. The extra world-domination game is awesome!

Spectre online... love that line.

I was kind of dissapointed with RA3. Graphically the only impressive part is the water. The allies are extremely underpowered as well.

It's not so much that the allies are underpowered, the soviets are overpowered
But it's a beta, Every update gives more balance ( we are at update 3 now I believe)

I love the graphics!! The water is nice and stuff, but I love the fact that they kept the C&C universe dark and detailed, while they make Red Alert universe bright and colorfull.

"I am the Juggernaut!!" or "Little C4 knocking at your door"... My favourites

O wow, did I make a huge mistake there

I would like to make a correction here.... It's the allies that are super overpowered!

So far I think this game is awesome! But that's mainly because I play it in LAN with friends. I heard onlineplay isn't the best....again..
EA should give up on gamespy..
I did play the campaign online with a friend of mine. The connection was terrible, but once in a game there are no more problems. The story is not that impressive as RA2, but the fact that you are playing together makes it great fun.

I am dying for the worldbuilder though.. Although there are plenty of startingmaps. It ends eventually.. And that did happen a long time ago allready.
