I have been secretly working on a project since my return. Many of you may remember me for the creation and hosting of "Religious Forum's Murder Mystery, Case #1: The floating Coffin." The Murder Mystery Begins!
I know it's been a while since I hosted an RPG. But I always wanted to make a sequel (or prequel), and I have come up with something of even greater grandeur than the previous murder mystery... The City of Seven Sins. Inspired by classic film noir and neo-noir films such as Sin City, The City of Seven Sins will be the most immersive Religious Forums Role Playing Game ever to be created. Set in the 1920s, It will be like Mafia on steroids... Including things such as love, drugs, alcohol, extortion, murder, corruption, betrayal, etc. Various new concepts, such as: -Trials, imprisonment, execution, and bail. -Weapons -Alignments -Money -Corruption through bribes or blackmail. -Non Playable Characters (i.e. confidantes, witnesses, mob rats, etc) -A lot of artwork stylized like a graphic novel. -Everyone will receive a character profile like "The Nosy Journalist," "The Drifter," or "The Black Widow." You can be anything from a Don to a priest. Each character has specific traits determining their abilities. For example, "The Priest" is unique in that many NPCs regularly visit him/her, in the confession booth. These NPCs unwittingly yield all kinds of information, sometimes even secrets. -Each profile features special actions unique to that profile, such as Bribe, Blackmail, Rob, Murder, Charm, Hustle, Spread Rumor, Receive Confession, Arrest, Protect, and so on. -Secrets: Each player harbors a secret, that if found out, can be used against them in Blackmail. Secrets can also be used to help throw the Don, Capos, or Wiseguys in jail. -A more diverse set of clues: blood trails, finger prints, foot prints, rumors, witnesses, mob rats, confidantes, paper trails, etc. -And much more! Although it may seem more "in-depth," I am designing it around simplicity. It will also be designed to be re-playable, so anyone can host a game numerous times. And of course, It won't be finished until the summer of 2008 (at the least). I am going to school right now, and I have to be very frugal about my spare time. (I actually do have a life) But ya, I really enjoy this kind of stuff, especially the writing and artisitic aspect of it. Please give me your thoughts, suggestions, ideas. Let me know if you are interested in participating and or think its a good concept. Last edited by Cynic; 09-14-2007 at 04:16 AM. |

In this game, you won't have to think as hard to find a murderer. While there are more clues, you won't have to analyze as much to solve a murder case. This is because the game is being designed so that it will be re-playable. You will be using the process of elimination, however there won't be any ambiguous details (i.e. this player's ticket was bought in Manhatten, the place of a recent murder). There won't be player movement on a map, or blood trails on the map. Ciphers will not be included, because anyone can decode them using software.
Any thoughts, suggestions on this? Private Eyes/Investigators represent both the criminal investigation and judicial department of the Department of Justice (they are both investigator and lawyer in one). They will be gathering the most evidence, and presenting the evidence to a judge in request for a warrant for a player's arrest. The player arrested will be subject to a trial, where either a jury or judge will give a verdict. The sentence is selected by a random roll of the die. 6 is execution. 5 lifetime imprisonment. 4 - 8 turns with bail. 3 - 6 turns with bail. 2 - 4 turns with bail. 1 - 2 turns with bail. The price for bail is proportional to the amount of turns. Last edited by Cynic; 09-14-2007 at 03:54 PM. |

The more closely you look at a magician, the more likely you are to be deceived and amazed. So, please...watch away.
