So, how come all believers hate sex? What's up with that? Is it because, as many people suspect, that all believers wear chastity belts to which they've most likely lost the key? Or, does it have to do with something less profound than that? Huh?

Perhaps because there is a vicious circle. The more closed up one is about sexuality, perhaps the more unpleasant and fearful it is, which makes a person more closed about, which makes it even worse . . .

It is because religion prides itself in telling people they shouldn't have joy, especially self joy. So it lays a guilt trip on people. instead of enjoying a pleasureable romp, you subconsciously start thinking, "Oh, crap. I'll be smited because I'm not reflecting on all of the sorrow that I'm taught to reflect on."

It is one of the main negatives regarding religion - that we have to be so wrapped up in revering the sacrifices made before us, that we cannot enjoy what is right there in front of us.
