"School administrators can smell a hat a mile away, but they can't catch freshmen having sex in the hallway."

I voted false, but only because most are trained to smell a hat two miles away.

I say it's true, because teachers like to turn a blind eye. They know kids are having sex, but alot of them won't say anything. But, what harm will it do to smell that hat from a mile away?

I remember when Eibhlin had a scrape on her head and you can't bandage that, so I sent her to school wearing a bandana because she kept itching it open all the time and it wouldn't heal.
Now, this school (3-6th grade), every time I walked through the hall I swear I'd hear some kid call another "gay" and no, they weren't being descriptive, but that never got any attention, even though the virtue of the month was "respect." uh huh But the rules state that you can't wear a bandana "that indicates gang affiliation." Well, she got more crap for that bandana than any kid ever got for bullying. Ridiculous. You can probably imagine the scene when I confronted the admin by quoting their own rules, and pointing out that it was not just any bandana that was prohibited, but only those that indicated gang affiliation. And then I asked them what sort of gang "Girls Scouts" was, and what sort of a menace to society that particular gang presented. For I had sent her to school in a Girl Scouts bandana. Truly bizarre! I think they can smell bandanas a parsec away. ![]() |

Oh that is so true!
I remember at my high school kids would get stopped all the time in the hallways for hats, and wearing "offensive" t-shirts (most of which were not offensive), yet nobody seemed to care that other students were smoking pot and having sex in the bathrooms, and the empty music rooms....

You guys live in hell.
I never saw or heard of sex in the bathroom. Drugs...yes - and those dummies got busted. Glad I grew up where I did. Holier than thou? Yes. |

When I went to school we had to wear hats... Either Caps or Boaters ( straw hats)
Bandanas then called squares ( in house colours)could be worn round the neck instead of ties. How times change.
