this is where we can talk about how to implement the story in the game, and any out of game questions you have can be posted here instead of in the game, as that would disrupt the game play.
A note on the ship’s crew: there have been other people than just you RF members who have joined the crew, and there are already people on board. they will mainly just be doing ship work, and you can interact with them in your posts if you like, but they won't really be that involved in the game play. A note on running the game and the game play, you can talk openly to people on the ship, which you do by posting in the thread, or you can talk quietly to people, which you do via PM. Other people do not need to know what you are talking about via PM, but other people you talk to are under no obligation to keep information private. Different characters have different skills, and as the GM I will be PMing different people with different information depending upon their skills. For instance, the characters who use magic will easily be able to identify other magical users, and will easily notice if magic is being used on the ship or close by – non magic users will not notice this, so I will PM those magic members. What they do with that information is up to them. When role playing online, you may post what your character is doing, you can initiate interactions with other characters, but please do not try to write how that other character reacts – that is for the other character to decide. For instance, if I want to get into a fight with someone, I can write “Mike smacks Zayl in the face and draws his sword ready to strike Zayl further” but I can’t then go on to write something like “Zayl grabs the fire axe leaning up against the mast he was pushed up against and starts swinging it madly at Mike” because Zayl might not want to do that.

Do you have a set standard for how to format actions and dialogue? Or, does it not matter as long as we can tell the difference between the two?

What about color coding it? That could be helpful too.

if you can make color coding work then go for it, but i think i'll be fine without it
![]() Edit: actually, for interacting with other crew mates that are not characters being role played, you can use a different color in your post to role play them with your character!
