I'm afraid I'd be a miserable failure with an online RPG as I haven't got any experience. Sounds like fun though.

While I try to find a name to use (I'm not too happy with having to select from a list of last names, and the two I found to use have both been takin with the first name of Shadow.) Are all avatar options free, or do you have to pay for some?

I think it's interesting how you have all IP rights to anything you create in it. Perhaps we could make RF comics, and try to make a profit to fund the site?

But there isn't any goal (so far as I can tell). Tho I must say that I'm having trouble figuring out how to walk and sit and fly, lol. It's just a place where you can interact with other members in a 3D like interface. Someone that I met online told me that there are bars and danceclubs but I have yet to check them out. Now if I can just find a good cafe....

Maybe a bit later I'll roam around the site and see if I can fare well enough to not embarrass myself too much. It would be fun to dance together or some other silly activity with other RFers. Maybe even a food fight? Being the cheeky chimp that I am I can envision getting kinda pranksterish.

The purpose of the last names is so that late comers don't get stuck with numbers behind their names. There's no way that I could be "Lilith" if it weren't for last names. If you don't like the surname options that are currently available, check back in a day or two. They retire names continually and add new ones.

As far as I can tell, it's free to look like whatever you want provided that you have the artistic skills to come up with it. If not, you'll have to pay another 2nd lifer - there are members who sell their creations online.

The way that I found out about 2nd life was a tv news program that said that some woman made up to $100,000.00/yr buy, developing, and selling virtual property.

A lot of others make more modest amounts selling jewelry and clothes.

Kewl, how would we market such a thing? It would be great if we could make some Linden dollars because then we can buy our own island!!

Well... I think that would be quite expensive. It would be nice to just have a clubhouse or something.

Maybe we could get Cardero to come up with something. I guess we could start with a word of mouth.

Guess I'll have to wait till tomorow to make an avatar. Gotta get up early to go to work early, since my boss is allowing people to go in early tomorow so they can watch the Super Bowl. And then I wont have time after work, since I'll be getting home about a half hour before it starts. And then I have to actually watch the Super Bowl, and then spam many a forums that the Colts have won. And then I'll get to it. (I'm also extremely bored right now.)
