I've heard that it can be extremely biased when it comes to such things as religion- stuff like allowing Wicca discussion, but not Christian. But I encourage you, Mike, to come with ZH and I and join 'gaiaonline'! (I'm Ieara, there.) I think my old acct. was 'supermegs' on Neopets, but I'm not sure.

Our daughter, Dana, has four Neopets, three with petpets, and she has a plethora of stuff that she tries to buy them daily. She hasn't been at all interested in opening a shop or entering the battledome.




She does have a wayward devilpuss petpet that none of her Neopets want to adopt. I've suggested that she put it on the market, but she wants to keep it around because "it's just so cute, Mom!"



I LOVE Destruct-o-Match! Dana's got quite a few favorites with the games - like the Ice Cream Machine, Korbat's Lab, Hasee Bounce, are just a few.



Plus, she talks me into doing a few rounds of Math's Nightmare for her so she can watch as the Aisha makes the sheep jump over the fences.



Oh, I almost forgot! Dana loves the Poogle races in Fairyland, too!

I'm a shop-wiz restocker extraordinaire. My old accts got frozen because I was bad and had too many. But I got a new one a few months ago and I'm up to 1.5 mil np with little effort. These days, I specialize in petpets. So if Dana has a petpet she wants, let me know! I can get one on the cheap and send it to her. Does she like the Angelpuss? Haha, yes my daughter has Pooky the Devilpuss on one of her accounts. You can get around 5800 for a Devilpuss, I think. That'll buy an Angelpuss. Has she seen the Catamara? Very cool if she likes the cat theme.

They make that joke about dreaming about it, but the thing is -- it's true! I'm lousy at the action games. My daugher does Snowmuncher sometimes. I do Sakhmet Solitaire if I'm really bored -- usually while the teevee is on.

Oh, you can get 900np a day right now if you do the stupid Venus Vibrance quiz 3 times. You can do it very fast, and you can't lose -- 300 np per game. It's stupid advertising, but hey, they wanna give me free money, fine w/me.

I feed the Esophagor every chance I get, because you can do very well with that. The trick is, NEVER feed him items over 100np. Sometimes you get cheap stuff back. Just wait until your clock has run out and try again.

Oh, and I buy Lost Desert Scratchcards every 4 hours and resell them. The cheapest always sells at 595, Coltzans for 800, and usually the next one up sells for 1200-1400, depending.

The cool thing about Neopets for kids is you can let them loose and not worry about them getting into trouble. They can learn about business running the shop, investing on the NEODAQ, budgeting by saving up for items, and all without risking any real money.

And it's one of those *rare* computer things that has something that appeals to girls as well as boys. There's battling for the boys, but chatting and decor for the girls. Something for everyone, really.

I turned a friend of mine on to running a shop on Neopets. She's a great real-life shopper (we have something of a shopping cellphone network in real life too). For her, finding a deal is a real adventure. She's saved so much money having her shopping adventures on Neopets instead of at Target. And she can give the neopoints to her daughter for that purple slorg she was saving up for.
