Could you say that a good majority of people have been exposed to what these instruments are? Coz I know I have no idea and there isn't anyway for me to really research it.

Well can't say much without given it away the first one has a very regonizable sound and is usually associated with the land down under guess i gave that one answer away but the name of instrument and what its made of will do. in fact whenever they have anything associated with Australia on tv you will hear this instrument buzzing in the background.
The second one well should be(maybe not) fairly famliar around here(atleast i thought it would) its pretty symbolic goes back to ancient biblical times . can't give away too much really i already gave you one answer heh.

Sorry for kind of disappearing. I started having problems with the site after I posted. The first instrument is a didgeridoo. I actually saw some guest play it on Late Night with Conan.
I still don't know the second one though. ![]()

From Wiki
A shofar is a ram's horn that is used as a musical instrument for religious purposes. It is used on Judaism's high holy days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. The shofar originated in Israel for Jewish callings. Wiki even used the same picture you did.
