Sad but true
I am going to make no excuses for this one; it was sent to me by a good friend in Australia.
Sad but true! AFL or ARL, which one fits the bill? ARL stands for Australian Rugby League and AFL stands for Australian Football League To which one does the following apply 36 have been accused of spousal abuse 7 have been arrested for fraud 19 have been accused of writing bad checks 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses 3 have done time for assault 71, repeat 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges 8 have been arrested for shoplifting 21 currently are defendants in lawsuits, and 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year Can you guess which organization this is? Give up yet? . . . Scroll down, . . . . . . . . . . . Neither, it's the 535 members of the AUSTRALIAN PARLIAMENT IN CANBERRA !!!!

I have just started studying ethics in politics - no I am not joking  Could you please find from your friend the dates of the period mentioned (in the last year) and more importantly, the validated source of his information. All religious groups that I have been with seek truth, among many other things. This will help me greatly in my studies. Thank you Jenny

Dude, already pointed out that this is a blatant hoax. That it rings true enough to fool people is an indication of the populations attitude towards politics and politicians.

I remember reading this on Snopes many years ago...after getting in e-mail a few dozen times.
 :BTW...the 535 refers to the US Congress: 100 Senators and 435 members of the House of Representatives. How many Aussies does it take to make law?
