Here's the background: Some long time ago, I wrote a poem that actually helped seduce a friend of mine. I think that was because she read the poem and was immediately moved to weep in pity for my lack of poetic talent.
Whatever the case, I recently became so bored that I posted that particular poem along with ten others. That is, I posted 11 of my poems in all. An anti-social act? Probably. Nevertheless, let's make good on it by holding a contest! Whoever can correctly guess the poem that helped seduce my wonderful friend will win wholesome frubals! Just choose the right poll option (This poll will show who chose what). All the poems are located in the Prayers, Meditations, and Poetry Forum, here: http://www.religiousforums.com/forum...splay.php?f=18 Good luck! (BTW, There is absolutely no contest rule that requires you to actually read any of these poems in order to vote in the contest. In fact, I recommend that you simply vote and forget about reading any of the poems because I've had alarming reports that folks who do indeed read the poetry are very likely to go blind, bark like doggies, or experience auditory hallucinations. Only a fanatic poetry-phile would endure risks like that. But by simply guessing, you still have a 1:11 chance of winning over 700 frubals for yourself. Again, Good Luck!)

Ooooo! A great contest! *happy dances*
While I enjoy all of them (as they seem to show the many facets of your personality), I would think that "Tara Lynn" would have been a seduction-worthy poem. The soft but clever rhyming in it was enough to send a shiver along my back, and the ending verse was so... well, it was sorrowful, but not sad. In short, beautiful!

I'm picking Waking In A Coffee Shop because it's my personal favorite of the ones you've posted so far. The opening line is perfect and I love the vibrancy of life felt in the poem....it's the most creative one IMO as well.
Thank you for sharing your poetry with us Phil! |

I picked The Lives I've Been Told, for no other reason than because I like it a lot.
