This is a story found in Joe Creason's Kentucky
"Until I came across a hotel clerick in Ashland some years ago,I'd always felt the most confident person extant surely must either be one who would work a crossword puzzle with a fountain pen or a marine from Texas. However this clerk topped them with room to spare. I was trying to do some work in my room and called the desk to ask if the hotel happened to have a set of encyclopedia handy. "No we don't," the clerk said. "What did you want to know?" Deut, I think you have competition ![]()
