Well that's me out of the running; my hair is so thick, curly and unmanageble that I have to have it cut very short! I used to have a beard once - I shaved it off on a cruise when I entered a singing contest - I wanted the look as well as the voice immitation.

Well I used to have shoulder-legth hair and a goatee. I shaved off the beard and cut my hair after being asked in Romania 'Where is your church?' (Orthodox priests are meant to have long hair and beards) and then a few days later hearing a couple of the kids in the hospital I worked at arguing over whether I looked more like God or Jesus (though how they knew what God looks like is beyond me). They both just had to go and, now that I'm getting old and thinning, I'd be scared to let my hair grow long - even if the 'Jesus look' might be cool, the 'Klingon look' is just sad (note that I don't have a ridged forehead).

but who said he had a beard??............its not fact but speculation,did they have shaving implements in those days??

In trhe 60's i had a gotee with a brush cut and always wore sandalls(I still do wear sandalls)
kids used to call out Jesus all the time. It seems not having long hair did not matter to kids.

Well given Holy Tradition, iconography, and the fact that religious Jews even today sport beards, I'd say it's a fairly safe bet. Safer than assuming the opposite, anyway. You are correct that nobody is certain one way or the other, though.
