Default Story

Hey I just thought of this story, and wrote it as it came to me. I haven't read it through yet though because I'll probably hate it and delete it like I do with most things I write.
So here goes:

'All life is special and sacred; created by God,' said the vicar. 'The sanctity of life is one of the most important subjects facing Christianity today. Advances in technology have produced problems that were not faced in the Bible, and so, the only guidance we have is the presence of the Holy Spirit in all our souls.
'Cloning, genetic modification, abortions, scientists 'playing God', even the unfair treatment of animals; all ethical debates to which we must add our voice.
'So hear my word now: all life is sacred, without exception. We will now sing "All Things Bright And Beautiful".'
When the service was over, and everyone was shaking hands with the vicar at the door, James gathered his will and went over to him.
'Great sermon, vicar,' he said, 'I really felt it strike a chord with me.'
'Glad to hear it,' smiled the vicar.
Now or never.
'Vicar,' started James unsurely, 'my wife is not getting better. She was insistent I ask that you see her before they move her into the hospital.'
There. Done. Good job, there was a lot of people waiting impatiently to tell the vicar how great his sermon was.
The vicar's smile did not falter for a second, but his eyes were not as bright as a moment ago. James had the feeling he was thinking, 'Not another one. Can none of these people do something for themselves for a change?' and regretted asking him.
However, presently, the vicar said, 'Certainly. God is thinking of her always, as He is of you also. God loves you and will not leave you, never forget that. Have faith in Him, for both your and your wife's sakes.
'I'll come over this afternoon, after I've done the weeding.'
