BTW, it is not a hint to say that "Lazy 8" is infinity - get it ![]()

I cheated anyway and googled it (I was curious ) and still don't understand it. I'll stick to Holiday Inns. I blame bridges.

I think I get it... It's a lazy 8, one that's lying down, which is the infinity symbol? I'd forgotten about this question until I saw a book sideways just one moment ago, and then I had to log on see if I was right.

Okay - you first get room number 1 and that is because all the current guests are asked to move to the next higher number room and number 1 then becomes vacant for you. But what happens when the infinite number of guests arrive?

When an infinite number of guests arrive, everyone just runs from room to room in a confused panic!

Except infinity plus one is still infinity, isn't it? (Okay, I fully admit to sucking in math.)
Or is the room in Room 0, so it's excempt? Or else, you're in room 1, and the infinite number of guests (including yourself) keeps trading rooms? I hope, whenever someone guesses the correct answer, I'll be able to understand it! ![]()

Just have everyone move so that there's one empty room between each guest there...and now there's an infinite number left open. Yeah?
2 times infinity remains infinity, after all.
