I need you guys help! I am compiling a story about eating habits. So.....
What are your views on eating? What kind of meal do you typically strive to prepare when grocery shopping? Anotherwords, what do you want to do, but what do you end up with instead? You buy fresh stuff and veggies, but usually just end up with a frozen dinner instead for instance.... Does your lifestyle affect you eating habits? How? How would you rather it be? What is usually on your grocery list? Add in anything else on this topic you like! ~*~HUGS~*~ ![]()

People are so hung up on branding and whether or not it tastes good - while not realising that many brands taste the same, and really a cheap brand is just made by the same company that does the expensive stuff as well. Find out who owns the brands you like, and wha other cheaper brands there are - they'll taste the same, you'll get the same quality, and a little heavier of pocket!

I try to eat right when I can. I'm such a busy person though, it's hard to make a delicious, healthy homemade meal.
My vision of healthy eating includes abstention from beef, pop, fast foods and oily snack foods such as chips. I find it more than easy to keep away from this stuff, especially considering how gross it makes me feel after eating it. I don't eat very much pork either and I almost never eat a piece of meat as a main part of any dish. My philosophy to eating healthy is to keep a watch of what makes you feel good and what makes you feel bad. Your mind will eventually make the association of eating healthy foods to feeling good. Then you'll start to crave healthy foods while bad foods will start to make you sick. One of my favorite delicious foods to make is spinach and ricotta tortellini with sun-dried tomato and basil pasta sauce topped with herbs and feta cheese along with toasted garlic french bread. The third side for this dish is a surprise, usually diced whole fruits or vegetables. Michael Pollan's Twelve Commandments for Serious Eaters - Food Media and News - Chowhound

hi,
i make myself salad. i put artichoke in my salad because i belief it is best to eat it raw. i also use white cheese to have better taste. collard, radish, lettuce, carrot, thyme, mint are also in my list. i do not cook meals with meat. i only make soup and i use meat with bones. i love to mix sliced banana, yogurt and honey. i also add powdered black cumin seed into it. i am an tea addict i guess. i was advised to change variation. it's been some years i make my own blend which contains ceylon tea, nettle and now it also contains blackberry leaves. nettle and blackberry leaves are known as blood cleaners. yea that's all my eating habits so far

Two eggs and homemade hashbrowns in the am.
A sandwich or two for lunch. Something fun in the evening. I really enjoy the thrilla of da grilla!

Wow. Thanks guys, and you all are much more talented that I am that's for sure.
. I am not very good with throwing things together on a whim and being creative. It's super hard for me to eat healthy because I am almost always in my car going somewhere, or away from home. When I am home I'm running around all crazy and on my way out the door it seems. This semester will be over in a few weeks so maybe I will find more time to play in the kitchen then. How do ya'll feel about "American eating habits" in general? I had a freind who traveled to Denmark for a while, and he told me that being over there really opened his eyes to how indulgent Americans are. He said there are not any all-you-can-eat buffets, they give you very small portions when you go out to eat, and most of their diet consists of fresh bread, sausage, and different cheeses. For dinner you would just see a loaf of fresh baked bread on the table and different topping to put on the slices, and that was it! He also said that you very very rarely see someone who is overweight. Any thoughts??

![]() They also have very different tastes compared to NZ. Here everything is so bland - meat and 3 veg... so... tasteless. In the Netherlands they take a lot of influence from the indonesian spices (being that they had colonised indonesia at a point). Even their chinese takeaways taste better!

I still live at home, so my parents cook most meals (though I cook a few). I eat loads of vegetables and generally have a healthy diet. The thing is though... I'm greedy. I have such a high metabolism that I can eat what I want, when I want and put on no weight at all.
A normal day would be: Breakfast > 2 slices of toast with a cup of sweet tea Mid-morning work break > A bannana, some raisins, a grain bar, some chocolate, a yogurt and some Jaffa Cakes Lunch > Sandwhich, crisps and a cake bar type thing Dinner > Loads of vegetables and a portion of meat And that's a normal day for me. But at the end of the week, I often have a pizza a few hours after dinner. |

I used to bet that same way
. Watch out cause the older you get the slower your metabolism gets as well. Thanks!! And yeah, the little frozen pizzas are always tempting at night when you are chillin out watching a movie or something. We all should start eating like europeans... lol. Shave off some fluff...
