Do you apply dressing to your salad?
What is your favorite salad dressing? Do you prefer creamy dressings to oil and vinegar concoctions? When you go to a restaurant, what dressing do you usually order? Do you submerge you salad in dressing or apply a light sprinkle? Do you make your own salad dressing? Can you recommend a brand or a recipe? |

Thousand Island.
Just Thousand Island; otherwise, I prefer oil and vinegar. Quote:

Yes. If you're buying, Ken's Steak House dressings are pretty good. I don't really use recipes. For Thousand Island, I take a few big spoonfuls of mayonnaise and mix in a little ketchup and mustard till it's the right color. Then I add sweet pickle relish, a chopped hardboiled egg or two, white pepper, and a little salt. For Blue Cheese Dressing (I don't eat it, but John does), I take crumbled blue cheese and mix in a roughly equal amount of mayonnaise. Then I dribble in a little white vinegar to thin it, but not too much. It shouldn't taste like vinegar. Then white pepper and garlic powder to taste. For Greek Dressing, I mix olive oil, red wine vinegar, dried oregano, dried basil (fresh minced basil is better if you've got it), crushed garlic, minced onion, lemon juice, and crumbled feta cheese. You can throw in some lemon zest and rosemary or thyme if you've got them, but not too much of any of them.

Thousand Island or Blue Cheese!
Unceremoniously dumped straight out of a cheap plastic bottle! Woo-hoo! Make my own salad dressing? Sounds dangerous. |

Eh, Kirkland signature blue cheese or ranch dressing.
Always great to buy in bulk

When I am watching carbs, I love balsamic vinegrette, otherwise, blue-cheese all the way.

I like basalmic vinegar for dressing. If I was still eating dairy I might mix it with yogurt and fruit.

Unfortunately I am very limited to my choices as the majority of salad toppings in Thailand are limited to European particularly British taste thus we have salad cream not dressing I didn't think there was a difference however I found out really fast the Brits love sugar almost as much as the Thais, salad cream can contain as much as 35% sugar while my American taste would prefer less than 3% max. I love ranch dressing but I am unwilling to pay $7.00 for a 5oz. bottle as it is an import, so I have taken to making my own thousand island dressing with no sugar, I have become quite the chef since moving here.
