Anyone eat goat meat here? I saw a thing on tv where they were saying it is as low fat as chicken yet more akin to beef in taste.

It's readily available at our local farmer's markets, since there are fair sized immigrant populations where goat is a part of their cuisine. I've always wondered if it has to be prepped like lamb. If you don't prep it right it gets an off taste. That's why most American cooks don't use it -- they have no idea how to fix it. |

This web site says kids can be used for about anything lamb can but the goats are tougher and used most for stewing. I bet it would make pretty good burger or sausage. The nutritional value is amazing though. for 100 grams of meat the chicken has twice the calories but four times more fat.

I cannot eat goat. Cannibalism is forbidden in my religion! (I have a lot in common with it, hehee!)

Actually, there's a number of farms in our area that raise goats.

Goat meat is rather tasty. I've had in a taco mix, and it actually tasted better than a normal chemically "enhanced" cow does.

He didn't realise until he was half way through the dish.....
