Thanks for the heads up! I don't think I'm an idiot, but I wouldn't have thought of checking the expiration date on it....I just have a hard time remembering how long I have things (which probably means I should throw everything out, hehe.)

Weevils seem to only appear in containers that are not tightly closed. Pantry moths also get into brown rice, unless the lid is kept tightly closed.

I don't know, but I put my instant yeast in the freezer to make it last longer.

I don't think it would make much difference with grains, just keep the lid on tight when you're not using it.

I would just feed it to my ducks

I've done that, when the ducks come around in the spring, and they really like it, especially if you put a pool of water out with wheat in it, it softens the wheat and they like fishing for it.
