Pancake mix? Who uses pancake mix? I can measure baking powder with little difficulty, I assure you.

And the rest of the crap they stuff in there, when it should be just flour, is ridiculous. It makes for lousy pancakes.

I have a friend with severe gluten & soy allergies. That means you have to use corn flour or brown rice flour a lot, but it comes in those dinky little bags and they're expensive. But corn *meal* is cheap! Brown rice too.

At least I can get WW pastry flour easily around here.

I only use non-aluminum baking powder.

Hmmm, not sure. I would look up the "Bosch" dealer in the Yellow Pages and see what they have.

There is a new grinder out called the "Whisper Mill". Not sure if Bosch makes it or not. It's much more quiet than any grinder anyone has come out with so far, and does not kick out any flour dust, as it grinds the wheat, or at least that's what they say here locally, in their commercial.

I purchased a grinder about 14 years ago, and I they haven't changed the design, since then. It's super fast, but It sound like a 747, when you turn it on, especially if there is no wheat in it, no joke, so that's why you might want to look into the new "Whisper Mill". I just did a search, and it's available online.

You can't beat freshly milled wheat, rice, and soy flour. We've also tried rye, and would like to try corn, but haven't yet.

So look into the "Whisper Mill". I don't think it's made by Bosch, which could be a drawback, because Bosch products seem to be pretty good, but I imagine the Whisper Mill would have it's benefits, because it's not so loud. It would be nice to have a wheat grinder that doesn't disturb the peace/neighbors.
